After yesterday’s aborted trip to the coast I tried again today and was successful. There was sun, sea, shingle and some sand. Lovely. I took the train to New Milton, walked briskly to the sea front at Barton on Sea, had a pot of tea and toast in one cafe, then a pot of tea in another (for research purposes) before setting off eastwards along the cliff top path.
At Milford on Sea I stopped for lunch on the shingle facing the Needles and then continued on the Solent Way to Lymington. The walk is described here in the opposite direction to the one I took. My way is more convenient for using the trains.
