Disused railway station

Today’s morning walk was a six mile route from Farncombe to Shalford along the River Wey Navigation, then to Bramley along the Downs Link and back via Farley Hill and Tannachie.

Twelve of us met at the car park in Broadwater Park. As we waited there before the start, a man with a dog approached us. He seemed pleased to see us (so did the dog) though we were strangers. You look the sort of senior citizens, he said, who would sign my petition to save the toilets. They were due to be closed by the council to save money. After discussion about the need for and state of public conveniences, most signed his form.
