Memorial to Bomber Command

We had a good day in London. There were 34 on the walk and the two leaders did well not to lose anyone. We met under the clock at Waterloo station then set off towards the London Eye and crossed the Thames by Westminster Bridge. From Whitehall we turned into Horse Guards Parade where the HGs were preparing for the changing of the guard. We saw them later at Wellington Arch as well as two state carriages taking the German Ambassador to Buckingham Palace.

Apart from the ceremonial processions, other notable features were four Paddington Bear statues we passed on the route. We stopped at Little Venice for lunch, then walked along Regent’s Canal to Regent’s Park and up Primrose Hill before taking a bus back to Waterloo station.
