Hindhead morning

Coffee stop

Mid-morning coffee stop

We returned to Hindhead for this morning’s five mile walk. It was in a different area from the walks of yesterday. This time we (eleven of us) took the steps down the steep slope into the Punch Bowl and then headed north along a trail that continued on a byway which turned east to meet the Greensand Way on another byway. Here we turned north to reach Upper Highfold Farm. We continued on the GSW for a short distance and left it to head west on a footpath just before Hedge Farm. At the junction with the byway by a stream with a footbridge we stopped for coffee. Three walkers coming from the opposite direction paused for a brief chat. They were following a route from Fancy Free Walks, an organisation they recommended.

We crossed the bridge and continued on the byway to Ridgeway Farm and then turned left (south) on a bridleway that took us to uphill through Vanhurst Copse, Highcomb Copse and back to the car park. All but two stopped for more refreshment in the cafe.
