Bramley circular

Nineteen arrived for this morning’s 4.5 mile walk. Fifteen stayed for the lunch in the Bramley Cafe afterwards. It was a grey, damp, cool day but, though rain looked likely, none fell. Footpaths were muddy; one person thought the paths were very muddy. Worse is to come. None of the footpaths was under water like one was on the same route last year. There were no stiles. Nineteen people climbing over rickety stiles takes time. We were back at the car park in just over two hours.

From the car park by the old railway station we headed south to take a bridleway past Hurst Hill Farm and then joined the Greensand Way heading east towards Shamley Green. At Long Common we turned left (NW) on a bridleway that took us to the Wey South Path. We turned right on this and headed back to Bramley.
