Compton circular

Given the cold, wet weather a record twenty turned up for today’s five mile walk. Mud was a feature though it was the sort that sucked at boots rather than stuck to them. The last part of the route was along a minor road with plenty of puddles. Bt the time we reached our cars our boots were almost clean.

The walk started by The Withies Inn in Compton. We headed north on Polsted Lane then turned NW on a footpath across Bulmoor Copse. At a T junction we turned left and joined the North Downs Way heading east across West Warren and East Warren. We paused for coffee in a break in the rain and then continued to Stakescorner Road where we turned right and walked downhill. Reaching a footpath on the right we walked on this across a field to pass near Loseley Park. Loseley House was sheathed in plastic, presumably for work on its roof. At Polsted Manor we turned left on Polsted Lane and headed back to our cars.

Eight stayed for a drink in the pub before heading home to dry out.
