Yesterday’s walk was in the afternoon instead of the morning. Fourteen arrived for the start in the car park on Church Lane. The weather was warm, sunny and clear; views were good.

The route went along the footpath from the NW edge of the car park and then continued on the recently re-instated footpath to Winkford Farm and Parsonage Farm. From here we headed west to meet the A286, turned left and then turned left again on the footpath that went beside a new fence of Rockwood House, currently being renovated. We turned left on the bridleway that led to Banacle Common and Church Lane, turned left on the road and then took the footpath on the right to Culmer.

Having crossed the A283 and joined Water Lane, we turned left on a footpath, went over a small footbridge and then under the railway line to meet Water Lane again. We crossed over this, continued to Buss’s Common, turned left heading north and then branched left on a footpath that led to Water Lane. We crossed the road again and continued to Great Enton. The path went under the railway line. Shortly after this we turned left on a footpath that went slightly uphill over a field and reached the A283. We turned left and headed back to the car park.
