Pessimists on today’s five mile walk, and those who hadn’t looked at a recent weather forecast, arrived with waterproof trousers as well as jackets. None were needed. It was a warm day and there was no rain. Footpaths were still dry.

Sixteen met at the start in Crown Court car park. We headed to the River Wey Navigation and walked along the tow path to Tannachie where we turned right, crossed over the canal and followed a bridleway that took us to Catteshall Lane and past Catteshall Manor. Crossing over Munstead Heath Road we continued on the bridleway to Alldens Hill, turned right, then turned left on another bridleway and turned right on another bridleway which took us back to Alldens Hill. Here we turned left, crossed Munstead Heath Road and followed a bridleway that took us to Busbridge and the B2130. From here we made our way back to the car park via Park Road, Grosvenor Road and Holloway Hill Recreation Ground.
