Round Thursley Common

This morning’s five mile walk was on damp sand in drizzle across Thursley Common. Twenty-four met at Elstead Moat car park and set off just as the drizzle started. The temperature was unusually mild so those wearing waterproofs became uncomfortably hot.

We headed south on a bridleway on the west side of Thursley Common, turned east to cross the common, turned north to Royal Common, turned west by the lake, turned SW by Guinea Common, continued between Elstead Common and Oakley Common, reached a boardwalk (from a section of a bridleway was no longer flooded) and stayed on this until it ended near the car park.
