Busbridge circular

Twenty-four arrived for this morning’s six mile walk. The leader thought he had a fraction of that number until he discovered a large group waiting for him round a corner. We set off from Busbridge church, crossed the B2130 and continued on a bridleway to Munstead Heath Road, crossed this and stayed on the bridleway to avoid some of the road, before emerging on the road opposite Barrett’s Rough. Here we turned right and walked along the road for about 300m to a footpath on the right. This passed a field with four donkeys and took us to Nurscombe Farm.

At the road we turned left, walked past Mill Pond and took the bridleway on the right. This section of the route was muddy but was not as bad as expected. At a junction with another bridleway we turned right and stopped for coffee.

Resuming the walk we carried on along the bridleway past fields of grazing sheep and turned right on a footpath that went up then downhill towards Thorncombe Street. From Thorncombe Street we joined a footpath that took us to the top of Alldens Hill from where we retraced our steps back to the church. Rain started half an hour after the walk finished.
