Milford circular

This morning’s 4½ mile walk, compared with the one on Thursday, was dry and mud-free. There was mud and there were puddles but both were easy to avoid. Conditions underfoot were good as were those overhead; there was blue sky and sunshine some of the time.

There were 17 on the walk. We met at at The Clockhouse, walked along Chapel Lane, turned right on Eashing Lane, branched left on a footpath across a field to Eashing, passed The Stag, crossed the bridge over the River Wey (wider than usual), continued to the A3, crossed that by the footbridge, followed the Fox Way, turned right on a footpath to Norney, turned left on a minor road, passed the church, turned left at the crossroads on Hurtmore Road, walked along on the grass verge, turned right on the Fox Way, crossed Shackleford Heath, turned left on the minor road, reached Hurtmore Road again, crossed over this by a tall conifer (a Wellingtonia) and took the lane to Peper Harow church where we stopped for coffee.

After our break we followed the footpath which went east across a field to the Fox Way. From here we retraced our steps back to the start.
