Walking Matters

Godalming & Haslemere Ramblers

Catteshall circular 2

It was a cold day but conditions were good for our seven mile walk. The mud that we struggled through two weeks ago was frozen solid. Stretches of the River Wey Navigation were covered in ice. There was not a cloud in the sky, hence the sub zero temperature. At lunchtime in the sunshine and shelter of Crown Court a few of us felt warm enough to remove our gloves and sit outside to eat picnics.

We (22) met at Meadrow car park on the A3100 near Godalming. Since we parked there two weeks ago the fee for all day parking had increased from £1.50 to £2.00. The route was unchanged as was the state of the bridleway between Busbridge Lakes (officially closed, unofficially open).
