Jubilee Walkway

Fifteen went to London today for an eight mile walk that included sections 2 and 3 of the Jubilee Walkway. We met at Waterloo station and set off for the Southbank. At the Royal Festival Hall we turned east and walked by the Thames to the Tate Modern where we joined the Eastern Loop of the JW. We stopped at the National Theatre to make use of the facilities (cafe and toilets) and then carried on to St Katharine Docks where we stopped for lunch.

It was a bitterly cold day so no one dawdled. After lunch we walked past the north side of the Tower of London and branched off on the City Loop of the JW. This took us to Monument, Bank, the Guildhall, London Wall, the Barbican, St Paul’s Cathedral, Millennium Bridge and the Tate Modern. We stopped again at the National Theatre for warming drinks before continuing back to Waterloo station.
