Heyshott figure of 8

Today’s walk started from the village of Heyshott in West Sussex. We headed south to the South Downs Way and walked east in the morning, west in the afternoon.

Great views, notable from the SDW, were absent today. There was such low cloud that this covered the tops of the South Downs. Light drizzle started before we set off and continued throughout the morning. We walked through fields of long grass, now wet long grass. Most soon realised that their boots were not waterproof. Those without waterproof trousers quickly became wet from the waist down. Horseflies added to the discomfort.

Most of the 24 on the morning walk stayed for the afternoon walk.
