Rodborough Common circular

Twenty-one arrived for this morning’s six mile walk. We completed the circuit in 2½ hours before the temperature had risen appreciably. Hot weather is forecast for the next few days. There might be fewer on the walk on Wednesday as a result.

The route followed, in reverse, that described in Four Commons and a Mill on the Fancy Free Walks website. Large areas of Thursley Common were coloured purple by the heather which was in flower. It looked beautiful.

There is a five mile walk on Rodborough Common described on the Witley Parish Council website. The details include a brief history of the Hammer and Forked Ponds which we passed today.
