We had a pleasant morning. The weather was good, the views were good, there was a stop for ice creams and a stop to look inside a Saxon church.
Albury Heath sports ground was the meeting point for the five mile walk. Sixteen turned up for it. The heat of the previous few days had gone so conditions were more comfortable. We headed SE across Albury Heath to the railway line, went under the bridge to Ponds Lane, walked along this to the byway, turned left, continued on the byway to a road near Parklands Farm, turned left, took a footpath on the right to another road, turned right, took a bridleway on the left, branched off that on a footpath that went over the railway line, and stayed on this to reach Shere by the church. The footpath near Shere was lined with flowering Chicory. The blue flowers looked beautiful in the sunshine.
After a stop for refreshment we followed the Fox Way to the A248. Here we turned left, continued to New Road and branched left on the drive to Albury Park and followed this to the church. Having briefly looked inside we headed south uphill on the footpath to Park Road, turned right and made our way back to the car park via Albury Heath.
