Catteshall circular

This morning’s walk was seven miles. Seventeen turned up for it and all marched round the route in just over three hours; this included two ten minute stops for refreshment.

We set off NE from Catteshall Lane in Godalming, took the bridleway that went past Springfield Farm and Catteshall Manor, crossed Munstead Heath Road, continued to a lane, Aldens Hill, turned left then took a footpath on the right and followed this to Thorncombe Street. At the road we turned right, then left at a T junction and took a footpath on the right that went up and over a hill and met the Greensand Way. Here we turned left on an overgrown bridleway and continued on this to Eastwater House. We stopped for the second break by the mill pond. Two swans paddled over to inspect us.

We turned left at the minor road, turned right on a bridleway just before Nurscombe Farm, turned left at Munstead Heath Road, turned right on a bridleway near Unsted Wood and joined the Fox Way briefly heading west. At a junction of paths we turned SE and followed the track back to Catteshall.
