Another hot day, perhaps the hottest for our walks this year. We all sweated.
This was the repeat of the 9½ mile walk on July 6. Fields were green then. Today they were more brown; crops had been harvested. We encountered no mud today and, joy of joys, no horseflies.
We (17) met in the NT car park by the B2141 near Harting Down. The thoughtful parked in the shade and were pleased to see their cars still in shade when they returned five hours later. They were hot; their cars were cool.
