Today’s five mile walk started from Rodborough Common car park. Thirty arrived for it. The car park soon filled up so our leader became car park attendant and directed later arrivals to spaces when early dog walkers vacated them.
A problem with car parks with unmarked spaces is that drivers park lazily and leave large gaps next to other vehicles. Space, at a premium, is wasted.
From the car park we set off in a long line along a bridleway across Rodborough Common past Borough Farm. At a junction of bridleways on the edge of Thursley Common we turned NW, continued to Guinea Common, turned west to Royal Common and stopped there for coffee by a pond. We then headed across Bagmoor Common to rejoin the bridleway that took us back to the (now emptier) car park.
