A small army of ramblers (51) gathered for this morning’s five mile walk. Most stayed for the lunch booked after it. During this we filled a collecting box for Parkinson’s and raised £100 for research.
We met opposite the Jolly Farmer in Puttenham and set off across the B3000 to join the Fox Way. The organisers, prepared for the large turnout, issued hi-vis jackets to key people. We gathered by the side of the road, the two tallest in the group (wearing hi-vis jackets) stepped out to the middle when there was a lull in the traffic and we nipped across as quickly as we could waving thanks to the drivers who had to stop.
We headed south to Lydling Farm, turned right on a byway to Mitchen Hall Plantation, turned right on a bridleway to Rodsall Manor, continued past this, turned right on a footpath, rejoined the Fox Way and retraced our steps back to the start. There was extra refreshment at our coffee stop—several people brought boxes of mince pies.
