Walking Matters

Godalming & Haslemere Ramblers

Heath, hills & mulled wine

The leaders of this morning’s two walks excelled themselves. Both walks started from Blackheath; one was six miles, the other was five miles. There were 34 on the longer walk and 12 on the other. After the walks the leaders provided nibbles and mulled wine for us in the village cricket pavilion. Nibbles was a modest description. There were homemade bread rolls and a large homemade loaf, slabs of three different types of cheese, two large bowls of homemade hummus (delicious), sticks of carrot and celery, cheese biscuits, mulled wine, tea and coffee, and plates of mince pies for those still hungry.

Needless to say we cleared the lot. In return we raised £180 for Riding for the Disabled Association.
