Walking Matters

Godalming & Haslemere Ramblers

Sidney Wood

There was plenty of mud on this morning’s 5½ mile walk. Fortunately, it was slushy rather than sticky and the 16 of us completed the route in good time. Unusually for the group there was a 1:1 ratio of men to women.

We met in the car park in Sidney Wood and headed SW through the wood to Thirds Copse where we joined the Sussex Border Path, followed this east to Barberry Bridge, turned north on the Wey South Path and continued back to Sidney Wood and the car park.

At Barberry Bridge men were working on the restoration of Gennets Bridge lock for the Wey & Arun Canal Trust.
