Frensham and Alice Holt Forest

It is the season for mud but that didn’t deter the 23 who turned up for today’s ten mile walk.

We met in the car park by Frensham Great Pond visitor centre. Our leader in her introduction indicated the depth of mud we were likely to encounter. She pointed to halfway up one of her boots.

From the car park we went to Frensham, then Spreakley, turned SW to Batt’s Corner, walked through Alice Holt Forest and stopped for lunch at the visitor centre. This was closed for redevelopment but there was a comfortable temporary canteen. We returned to the car park via Dockenfield and Frensham Manor where we paused to look at the Archimedean screw.
