There was a lull in storm Doris when we set off on this morning’s 4½ mile walk. Rain ceased, wind died down and clouds cleared. We walked in sunshine most of the time. The turn out was good given the weather conditions. Eighteen arrived at the start in Crown Court car park in Godalming. One person travelled there on her bicycle which was brave considering the gusts of wind.
The leader took us west on a footpath by the north side of the River Wey, SW past Eashing Copse to Lower Eashing, east on the Fox Way to the outskirts of Westbrook where we branched left on a footpath, rejoined the Fox Way and returned to the car park.
We completed the route without mishap and were back in Godalming in time to order breakfasts at Wetherspoons. Twelve stopped there for refreshment and most ordered large breakfasts.
