Snow had been forecast for today earlier in the week. However, by last night the forecast had changed and there was likely to be sunshine instead. This proved to be the case and as a result twenty-four arrived for the five mile walk. There was mud and there were puddles but nothing that made the going difficult. There was a major road to cross near a roundabout but as the traffic was already moving slowly, two drivers travelling in opposite directions stopped and waited for us to cross en masse. No one hooted, no one looked annoyed, patience was in the air; it was remarkable.
